Al Sharq Hospital has sponsored and provided the medical support to the Keralite Community event which took place at Fujairah Corniche on 6th Dec 2019. The event was attended and a participated by over 2000 families this year. The medical team conducted free medical checkups for the audiences which included: Blood Sugar checkup, Blood Pressure and BMI measurement. Our physician also gave the On-spot consultation. The ambulance was also stationed at the venue to deal with any emergency cases.
Al Sharq Medical Center – Dibba participated in the 11th Medical Camp which was organized by Sharjah Charity International at Dibba Al-Hisn on Tuesday 26th Nov 2019. The medical team conducted free medical checkups for workers and people with limited income to test their blood pressure, blood sugar, and to conduct BMI measurement; AlSharq Medical Centre-Dibba also provided on-the-spot consultation through our experienced physician Dr. Mohamed Hassan.
Al Sharq Hospital organized “Al Sharq Baby Day” workshop for the expecting mothers on 23rd November 2019 at the hospital premises. Dr. Stuart Bennett – CEO Al Sharq Healthcare, welcomed the expecting mothers and couples to the free workshop which featured the healthy pregnancy journey and how to prepare and plan for childbirth. Our professional doctors from Obstetrics & Gynecology delivered a presentation on prenatal and postnatal healthcare. They demonstrated pain management options, normal and cesarean birth, and breastfeeding. The doctors also spoke about the father’s role during & after pregnancy. Our nutrition specialist emphasized on the importance of healthy eating during pregnancy on baby's growth and development. The Emergency department team provided practical training of first aid for baby resuscitation and choking. The workshop was followed by a tour in the hospital and special giveaways for attendees. Al Sharq Hospital is planning to conduct continuous workshops to educate expecting parents about maternity and child’s health, and to prepare them for parenthood.
For the third year in a row, Fujairah National Group sponsored the NBF Fujairah Run. The different distance race started at 7:00am on 22nd November 2019 with more than 2300 runners participating this year. The medical support was provided by Al Sharq Hospital. The medical team conducted medical checkups for the runners to assess and determine their readiness for the run. AlSharq Hospital being the event strategic partner also provided post run medical services which include cases like falling during the run, high BP, faint cases and other run related injuries. The medical services also include Al Sharq Hospital ambulances stationed at the NBF Run, so as to send the runners to the hospital incase if they need any special medical attention. Rising Gym (sister concern of FNG) provided warm up session to all runners with a great motivational spirit, which helped them to loosen their muscles and adapt their body for the run. Moreover, Rising Gym coaches shared some fitness and exercise tips with the runners.
Fujairah National Group organized a farewell gathering for Mr. Felix Anthony Dsouza, who has worked in Fujairah National Shipping (part of Fujairah National Group) for 28 years. The gathering was attended by the top management and staff. The Marine Medical Division of Al Sharq Healthcare participated in the welcoming reception of Marella Discovery cruise ship organized by Fujairah Terminals on Thursday 14th November 2019. This is the first time that Marella Discovery docked at Port of Fujairah with a total of 2,066 passengers and 902 crew. A medical team from Fujairah Port Medical Centre was present during the two-day event to provide the necessary medical support for the passengers and crew. In addition, Fujairah Port Pharmacy displayed common consumable items and medicine for sale related to seafarers.
Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed Bhutto – Specialist Family physician & Head of Infection Control at Al Sharq Hospital, conducted BLS training for the hospital medical staff on Thursday 12th Sept 2019. The goal of this training was to give the participants knowledge and skills to recognize several life-threatening emergencies and to confidently manage them where proper use of BLS skills are required. The participants performed the steps of how to provide basic life support with CPR and AED, airway obstruction or choking, and to relieve choking in a safe and effective manner.
